The distance from Sydney to Siem Reap, Cambodia, is 7,252km. That’s around 9, 572,640 steps. And we are determined to collectively walk them in the name of education.
Human and Hope Association is a grassroots community centre based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Every single day, this community centre sees over 220 children come through their doors to take part in English, Khmer (their native language), preschool, art and library programs.
These children have dreams and ambitions. Some want to be doctors, some want to be teachers, and a large majority are just dreaming of the opportunity to be able to study in secondary school; something which only 45% of Cambodians do.
To help these children achieve their goals of being educated and breaking the cycle of poverty that has plagued their families for generations, we are holding our inaugural Walk to Cambodia.
In the month of April, we are asking our generous supporters to lace up their joggers and get walking so we can raise enough funds to provide education to 20 children for a year.
