Starting early with your steps means you are much more likely to hit a daily goal of 10,000 steps. Here are some ideas on how to get your steps up before midday.
- Go for a morning walk – Lay out your workout clothes the evening before, and set your alarm for 45 minutes earlier than you would normally get up. This way, you can pump out a 3,000 step walk before breakfast!
- Take a longer route to work – If you catch public transport, get off the bus or train a couple of stops earlier. You will save a bit of money whilst also getting your steps up and your fresh air into your lungs!
- Organise walking meetings – If you are working in the office, ask your colleague to walk and talk. If you are working from home, simply chat with your colleague using a good pair of earphones. You can dictate notes onto your phone if required!
- Go for a walk during your morning tea break – 10 minutes of steps really adds up, plus you will get your intake of Vitamin D! Make sure to wear your sunscreen.
