We are absolutely thrilled with the response to our Walk to Cambodia event! Thirty-two of you have committed to collectively walk the distance to Cambodia during the month of April, and that begins today!
Logging your steps
You have all been sent your login details so you can record your steps each day – if you have any issues logging in, please be sure to contact us. Our goal is to walk 9,572,640 steps during the month of April, which represents the distance between Sydney, Human and Hope Association Inc’s headquarters, and Siem Reap, where Human and Hope Association’s community centre is located.
Every time you log your steps, the counter on the Walk to Cambodiahomepage will be updated so we can track our progress!
Promoting your fundraising page
Our goal is for each participant to raise enough funds to provide one year of education to a Cambodian child in need. To help you promote your fundraising page to your networks, we have created an email template you can feel free to tweak as necessary. We have raised $1,016 so far, and we are looking forward to watching that number grow!
We would love for you to share this journey on social media! You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, and use the hashtags #walktocambodia and #humanandhope. Also, keep an eye on our social media as we share tips with you throughout the month on how to get your step count up.
For those of you who are based in Sydney, we will be having a post-event celebration on Saturday, 4th May. Stay tuned for more details.
Do you want to visit Cambodia?
If this walk has sparked your interest in Cambodia and Human and Hope Association, consider joining us for our Purpose and Philanthropy Field Trip to Siem Reap this September! We will visit the temples, immerse ourselves in the Khmer culture, learn about the ways social enterprises and NGO’s are tackling social issues, and of course, you will see Human and Hope’s work in action and dine with the local team. View the full itinerary and get in touch if you would like to join us.
Again, we are so excited that you are joining us for our inaugural Walk to Cambodia, and know that it will be a success with such a fantastic team!
Ready, set, go!
